Advice and Useful information

On this page you will find some useful information about our start times, transport arrangements, what to bring with you and a note on Health and Safety.

Walk start times

Sunday walks start at 10.30am unless notified differently and it is advisable to be at the meeting point by 10.15am to enable the walk to start on time. The start time for evening walks can vary but is normally 6pm to 6.30pm. Please try and book on with the walk leader in advance so they know to expect you and also, in event the walk is cancelled, to avoid a wasted journey.

Making Tracks does not provide transport. Our members are encouraged to car share wherever possible.

Health and Safety

For your own safety and the safety of other club members please take note of any advice and guidance issued by the club and the walk leader. When on a walk you are asked to remain with the group unless you have consent from the leader to leave. Make sure that you are fit enough to undertake the walk you intend to join, that you are wearing appropriate clothing and footwear and have sufficient water. Sun cream is advisable for the warmer months. If in doubt, contact a committee member or the walk leader in advance. Please note , Making Tracks do not insure members for personal injury or accident on our walks or events.

What to bring and what not to bring

Please bring sandwiches and a drink unless we advise otherwise. A visit to a teashop or pub is usually arranged after the walk. Walking boots and warm waterproof clothing are fully recommended.
