Welcome to Making Tracks!

We are a friendly, 40+ singles walking group. We walk on all year round on a Sunday providing a variety of different distances and ascents to cater for all abilities. During the summer months we also enjoy shorter evening walks. All usually take place in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire or Leicestershire and are provided to our programme by group members. Members also organise walking weekends away and social events.

The Group do not allow dogs on their walks.

Club History

The Making Tracks Walking Group was originally formed in Nottingham in 1994 and has grown over the years to become an extremely popular East Midlands based walking and social group. The running of the Group is overseen by a Committee of volunteers elected annually by members at an AGM.

New Members

It is usually a good idea to come and try one of our Sunday walks before you join. Please get in touch with us through the Contact Us page for more information. When you have walked with us once or twice you can apply for full membership and start to enjoy our other social events and walking activities.

There are no joining fees. An initial membership fee of £15.00 is payable and then renewable annually. The membership currently includes some subsidised group events.

Walks, Weekends Away and Social Events

Making Tracks members organise our walks, weekends away and social events to make up our varied annual programme. All members are actively encouraged to contribute and the committee and other members are willing to help and mentor others with less experience.
